They hired a helicopter to take a few REALTORS on a tour of the new tower from EPTA Properties. From The Key’s website:

The first ever helicopter tour specifically for Chinese realtors took off into the sunny skies above Vancouver airport yesterday afternoon. Four of the city’s top Chinese realtors, including Chris Chan (Regent Park Realty), Austin Kay (Remax), Thomas S.B. Chiu (Legend Real Estate) and Lu Wei (Coldwell Banker), were flown from Richmond to White Rock on a HeliJet to observe what you can only see from the air – White Rock’s proximity to Richmond and its incredible natural beauty.

The tour was designed to showcase AVRA, the soon-to-be built 17-storey concrete tower, located in the heart of downtown White Rock. One of the city’s few highrises, AVRA will offer unobstructed views of the ocean and mountains, proximity to excellent schools (with the world renowned IB program), Richmond and the Vancouver airport and a unique opportunity to customize your dream home in the sky.

Guest Post: Parketing https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2010/08/31/guest-post-parketing/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2010/08/31/guest-post-parketing/#comments Wed, 01 Sep 2010 05:48:06 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/?p=3264 Editor’s note: Guest author Cameron Herold has been coaching, speaking to, and helping entrepreneurs on five continents build their companies. Parketing, which is parking branded vehicles at high traffic locations has been around forever yet many companies still don’t leverage its power.

My dad used to have his company logos and lists of the products he sold on our family car! It served as a rolling billboard, and he parked it strategically: no matter where we went, he found the spot that would garner the most views from passing pedestrians and other drivers.

Later, with College Pro Painters, many of us painted our old, used vehicles in a bright yellow color with our huge red and white company logos. These “big bird” vans, as they were called, attracted attention and got us clients. Some franchisees even “bartered” with gas stations: in exchange for parking their vans at the stations overnight, College Pro Painters would buy gas from the proprietor all summer long. The arrangement benefitted all those involved, and put College Pro Painters front and center at all times of the day.

To this day 1-800-GOT-JUNK? branded trucks and wrapped cars are a huge percentage of how people first heard about the company. And even if you have to park your vehicle in a questionable area, potential repair costs due to vandalism are far outweighed by the free marketing exposure you’ll get.

Last time I checked, your prospects aren’t walking around your parking lot. They are driving down the streets in the areas near their homes and offices. Where are your company cars & trucks parking tonight? This is one great and effective way of getting you FREE PR!

“How Do You Catch a Possible Customer’s Eye?” https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2010/08/24/how-do-you-catch-a-possible-customers-eye/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2010/08/24/how-do-you-catch-a-possible-customers-eye/#comments Tue, 24 Aug 2010 20:21:14 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/?p=3241 I saw an article that fellow entrepreneur Matthew Weiss wrote the other day in the NY Enterprise Report. I had the opportunity to meet Matthew at an EO Event that I was speaking at in New Orleans. His post touches on Realtors and what he saw in the Southampton area. From his post:

Then, I passed Engels & Volkers, a real estate broker, and stopped dead in my tracks. They had put in place a simple, inexpensive gimmick to get pedestrian traffic to stop and notice their window full of “for sale” photos and listings.

Community Events – where are you? https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2008/04/26/community-events-where-are-you/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2008/04/26/community-events-where-are-you/#comments Sun, 27 Apr 2008 04:20:27 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/2008/04/26/community-events-where-are-you/ I stopped by a community event in Kerrisdale today. For those that don’t know, Kerrisdale is an affluent area within Vancouver that is hard to find a livable home under 1 million dollars (CDN or USD). My big question is – where are the Realtors?

With a few thousand people on a single street, all within walking distance home owners or potential home owners – you would think Realtors would be all over the place. Instead, there were Kerrisdale businesses and charities on the street showcasing their brands and products. Why are there no Realtors visible? Where are the real estate companies? I thought about this during my visit to Kerrisdale, so I took my dog and wondered around as I thought maybe I had not seen them yet…..

I did see Daniel Lavery‘s baseball team – which was great. He is a sponsor of a little league team in Kerrisdale and his team was in the Kerrisdale Day Parade holding his sign. Great Work!

A few Sutton balloons were seen, but I did not see where they were handing them out.

In my opinion, this is an excellent venue for real estate involvement. Where are the real estate companies? Why do you not have a big tent? a ride for kids? a visible presence?

Here are a few pictures from the event:

“We print business card-sized promotional pieces to advertise our open houses. These are distributed to every house in the neighborhood, since the neighbors may know someone who wants to live nearby.

During the school day, there will be more than 100 cars in the school parking lot, most of them driven there from out of the neighborhood. Some of those folks are sick of commuting.

Most local retailers will have some kind of bulletin board. Your cards belong there.”
