It’s classic simplicity sets the stage for clean content placement and key messaging. In recent years, minimalist websites have been praised for not only for their high visual impact but also for their seamless integration with responsive website practices. That being said,  it’s time to stop over accessorizing your site, set aside all the gadgetry and embrace the notion that less really is more.

Here are some other trends that have stemmed out of and work adjacently with the values of minimalist website design.

Flat Design— a style that omits the use of elements such as textures and shadows that give the illusion of dimensions conveying an austere charm.

Large Photography— We are huge advocates for this particular trend.  Your site needs to be visually enticing. Using big, beautiful, high resolution photos like realtor Benny Ryan will give your minimalist site an extra touch of sophistication.

Simple Navigation— Ever heard of hamburger menus? It’s an actual term, I swear.  Hamburger menus are most commonly used on mobile responsive sites like Brendan Stoneman’s but some desktop versions are implementing it as the default form of navigation. While very much in tune with the minimalist trend, there is one important factor to consider, depending on your audience hamburger menus might not be the most intuitive of features.

Stellar typography and white space: Something as simple as the using the right font can go a long way. Bring emphasis to content with visually superior typography, Meinzer & James’ stunning site is a great example of this.

A scrolling homepage— Contrary to popular belief not all important information has to show above the fold. Long scrolls is a trend that I’ve tried to explain to clients over and over, let your homepage tell a story similar to the Stylianou Group’s new site.

Ubertor’s Site of the Week: Vancouver Realtor, Manyee Lui https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2013/06/28/ubertors-site-of-the-week-vancouver-realtor-manyee-lui/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2013/06/28/ubertors-site-of-the-week-vancouver-realtor-manyee-lui/#respond Fri, 28 Jun 2013 20:05:35 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/?p=7653

This week, we’d like to introduce you to a very special client of ours. Meet Manyee Lui, one of Vancouver’s most powerful Realtors and one of the most well known names in the Real Estate world. As a member of the MLS Medallion Club, you can be sure Manyee knows her way around some of Vancouver’s most prestigious Real Estate listings. If that is not enough for you, just go ahead and check out some of her active listings.

We thought we would highlight 3 features that Manyee is using on the Ubertor platform that is helping her dominate the Real Estate market.

Featuring Sold Listings

Most of us in Real Estate would think to highlight our active listings on our homepage to show our clients what we have to offer, not Manyee Lui. Infact, the strategy here is the complete opposite. By highlighting your sold listings you are showcasing to potential clients not only your accomplishments on the sellers side, but also illustrating to buyers that they’ll be working with a Real Estate powerhouse to help them find the home of their dreams. For the typical client, showcasing the your active listings is a great strategy. When you’re a powerhouse like Manyee Lui, you have a very different clientele to market to.

Using High Definition Photos

Manyee and her team are fully utilizing Ubertor’s photo tool, displaying a lot of high definition photos for her properties. You don’t have to hire a professional photographer (of course it will help) which can be a big pinch in old coin purse, but we definitely do encourage our clients to take the time to stage the property correctly and take clean, bright photos of each room. Remember when a client is behind the computer and searching for a home, they are picturing themselves sitting and living in that home. By taking a lot of photos of every corner, you are helping the client build that mental image.

Adding a Bilingual Aspect

And last but certainly not least, we would like to commend Manyee Lui for using both simplified and traditional Chinese to cater to the sizeable investment of Chinese buyers in the Vancouver market. Ubertor’s websites support numerous languages and if you are focusing on a certain target market such as Chinese, Arabic, Russian or German buyers, we definitely encourage you to contact us and have your website to work for your clients.

We tip our hats to Manyee Lui and her team for building an awesome website on the Ubertor platform.

As always if you have any questions, feel free to contact our team. We’re always happy to help.

Excellent Use of Listing Tools https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2009/06/09/excellent-use-of-listing-tools/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2009/06/09/excellent-use-of-listing-tools/#comments Tue, 09 Jun 2009 11:37:26 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/?p=1818 San Diego Castles Realty uses many of the features that Ubertor provides. Take a moment to check out this listing on their website. They are using the large photo format with the Ken Burns effect, the Google Maps integration, the virtual tour functionality, the badge overlay, the custom tabs so that they can showcase more data about the area as well as interactive floor plans. It is a great example of how you can add more information to your listings to help your website visitor with their research.

Customized Real Estate Website – see what CSS can do https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2007/07/25/customized-real-estate-website-see-what-css-can-do/ https://www.ubertor.com/blog/2007/07/25/customized-real-estate-website-see-what-css-can-do/#respond Thu, 26 Jul 2007 07:03:12 +0000 http://blog.ubertor.com/2007/07/25/customized-real-estate-website-see-what-css-can-do/ strattonParker Web Marketing, a web design firm in Matthews, North Carolina has created quite a masterpiece with one of our clients websites. They took Kelly Stratton’s website, which is on the Premium Ubertor Plan and adjusted the CSS to change the entire look and feel of the website. Plus they hid the Ubertor forms on the site and added input forms from her Top Producer account so that the leads from her site go directly into Top Producer.

Andrew Schulz from Parker Web Marketing emailed me about thoughts on our real estate agent website software:

“Ubertor is the first Realtor content system we have encountered that allows for the freedom to build the site exactly the way we designed it! On top of being an excellent product, Ubertor’s staff is rivaled by none with willingness to go the extra mile just to see that their customers are happy! I found the Live Chat to be convenient and helpful every time.”
— Andrew Schulz, Parker Web Marketing

Here is what Kelly had to say about her experience with us:

“Ubertor has been outstanding to work with. I had another similar website that I was trying to customize with no luck. Their system was difficult to work with and you could never get a hold of them. My web designer came across Ubertor and recommended that we give them a shot. As you can see the results are exceptional. Ubertor has been extremely flexible, open, and available in helping me develop the site that had the look and feel that I wanted ,while maintaining the functionality that I desired for capturing and tracking my business.”
— Kelly Stratton, Broker/Owner, Waxhaw, NC
