Nice to see someone focusing on quality search engine marketing as well. Targeting the highly searched terms with little competition or search tail terms (related but less competitive terms) tend to have a higher conversion rate than the more obvious keyword terms. Another means I have discovered to promote a blog/site in the SERPs is themeing. By generating 100% Yahoo! relevancy keywords, then telling the engines the “theme” of the post, I have increased results positioning for highly searched terms over time and immediately experienced increases for less competitive terms and search tail terms. The combination of those two techniques seems to be highly effective.
